Where is this list from? I would have put Brighton ahead of Manchester... I also thought Sitges (near Barcelona) was considered "the gay capital of Europe".

The list is from a gay statistics page i found while browsing the net, and thats the exact list i got from it, i know that Brighton has a big gay population but from what ive heard Manchester has a bigger gay population and is the gay capital of Britain.

Aww no Amsterdam is IMO with its liberal attitude and open scene. There was a couple of gay clubs where we were in Amsterdam and they always seemed a lot busier than the straight clubs.

Says who...? I'm not gay but I have been to both Amsterdam and Sitges several times, and I saw a FAR higher proportion of openly gay people in the latter of the two destinations.

What I've been trying to ask "what is the source of your top 10...?" (or is it just a list you devised yourself?)

Are the statistics based on sheer numbers (in which case large cities would have an 'unfair advantage'), or on percentages?

Both are based on numbers and percentages, but mostly are based on numbers.

Anyone been to P-town in Massachusetts? I don't think it could compare to LA as far as shear numbers goes, but in terms of percentage of the population, I would think it would give LA a run for its money. For that matter... what about San Fran, Miami, or Seattle?

Is there a link you can give us to your statistics?

In fact, where are any of your 'Lists' from, John Boy?

I had been replying to another thread, thinking there was a discussion going on. Then I realised that you've been registered less than a day and made 17 posts, most of which are 'lists' of things you appear to have got off the web and actually know nothing about (dangerous/safe countries in Africa, dangerous/safe countries in S America, gay capitals, countries with best-looking men/women, which cities in America have you been to etc etc).

Time to put up or shut up, ie contribute something useful or stop posting irrelevant and outdated 'lists'.

To give him fair dues, they've made for interesting and active topics, but maybe that's because of the nature of the list that's been posted initially. I would still like to know where this list or where these statistics come from, but I note with interest that that question has been repeatedly ignored... was the list of his own creation, or is it really based on something official...???
